[It was the week before Christmas break and all through the town, all the students were partying and acting like clowns...

Right, so, it's the last Hogsmeade trip before Winter break. Mid-terms/Finals are done with and finally we can start to let our brains rot over the holiday season. Are you shopping for those last minute gifts or just out to have a good time in the recent snow fall?

Whatever it is your doing, it might be a good idea to check out The Hogsmeade Town Map for an idea of shops, though, come on, you've probably been here enough times by now to know where things are.]

[Steve took every chance he had to pick up supplies, since he knew he didn't get many chances to go out and buy things. There was always owl mail, but that wasn't the same.

He had already bought the supplies he needed for school when he stopped out front of Spintwitches. Of course he was tempted to go into. He didn't necessarily need any Quidditch supplies, but that didn't mean he couldn't look, right...?

So in he went, not able to help himself.]

[Tony didn't even care for Quidditch, he was just looking for places to spend money just because he could. And upon seeing Steve he found the perfect reason to do so.]

Hey Rogers! See anything you like?

[Just don't ask how he managed to get to Hogsmeade when he didn't have his parent's permission.]

[When he heard Tony's voice, his first thought was to respond, but then he paused, glancing down to the male. Naturally, he had to raise an eyebrow.]

What're you doing here?

[He knew for a fact that Tony didn't have permission, yet somehow...he's not really surprised to see him, either.]

[...yes rub in the fact that he hasn't yet had his growth spurt, Captain Human perfection. DON'T LOOK DOWN ON HIM JUST BECAUSE HE'S SHORT.]

Shopping. What else?

[And in an attempt to cut that line of questioning short, he picks up a pair of quidditch gloves.]

Hey, yours are all ratty and old, right? I'll get you these.

[HE CAN'T HELP HE'S SO MUCH TALLER THAN HIM.]

You didn't have permission. How'd you get out here?

[You can't distract him-- oh. um. okay now he's shifting nervously.]

Hey, no-- it's...it's fine. You don't have to, really.

[Success! Now to keep him pressing him so it doesn't veer back.]

But I do want to get something for my favourite Captain in the world. You know, your whole uniform could do with replacing. [Tony tugs Steve's arm and attempts to drag him over to get refitted.] Hey, do you want a Firebolt? I know Keeper's don't need the speed so much, but it'd be pretty cool, right? I've actually been working on a new broomstick for the company that's even faster. I could get you one of those instead.

Since when am I your favorite Captain? [There's a smirk there for a moment, only to fade when Tony drags him away.]

No-- really, Tony, you don't-- you don't have to. I'm fine with what I got.

Since now.

[He starts to pick things out and shoves them into a slowly growing pile in Steve's arms.]

My family is very rich and it's nearly Christmas. I gotta get you all something before you all go back and leave me behind at school.

[Steve isn't really sure what to do, so the pile just continues to grow in his arms.]

Tony-- Tony, wait. You don't have to get me all this, really. Something little would mean just as much. Just 'cause you got money doesn't mean you have to use it all. Buy your friends something that means something, not just a ton of stuff.

[...maybe a bit of a lecture, he can't help it.]

[Tony slows and stares quizzically at Steve.]

But I like buying stuff.

[And for all of his bluster, he's still just a kid who never quite got the hang of making friends.]

And that's what you're supposed to do, isn't it? You buy them stuff and maybe they'll like you...

You can't buy people's friendship. Doesn't work that way, not if you want real friends.

[Pepper has popped into the store for a quick look at something Henry mentioned wanting for Christmas when she spots Steve. She taps him on the arm (because his shoulder is way too high for her, okay?) and gives the Head Boy a grin.]

Buying for yourself or someone else?

[Steve couldn't help but give Pepper a grin, before chuckle nervously.]

Oh, no. Just...just looking.

[He didn't have the money to buy anything, to be honest. He just had enough for the supplies he needed and for going to The Three Broomsticks later.]

That's no fun though. [She may go on about how important school is but she really does enjoy shopping.] It's almost Christmas - you should be able to treat yourself.

Were you looking at anything in particular?

Any extra money I've got is going to gifts for you guys. [Which will be fail gifts, sorry.]

Nah, not really. Just thought I'd see what new stuff they've got.

[She actually lets out a little bit of an 'awe' at that but gives him a grin instead to cover it up knowing it may embarrass him.]

That's so sweet of you, but you know that it's fine not to get me a gift, right?

There has to be something that caught your eye, Steve.

[Too late. He rubs the spot just under his nose, a little embarrassed as he shrugs.]

Yeah, but I want to.

[A pause, before his eyes flicker to the new set of gloves on the shelf.]

Maybe a few things, but nothing I can't live without.

[She spots that slight movement and makes a mental note for later after he leaves the store.]

You're no fun, Steve. But while we're here, do you think you can help me pick something out for Henry? I'm not the biggest Quidditch expert around after all.

Oh, yeah. Sure. Any idea-- well, guess not. Take it you don't know if he needs anything, do you?

He mentioned something about a new set of goggles but that's about all I have to go on.

[Bruce really isn't much of a Quidditch guy, but he does like the broomsticks and stuff so he's here to poke around a bit. Maybe he will actually get a broom today.

...maybe.

But nevertheless, here he is being somewhat awkward as he shuffles around the store.]

[Steve glances up when he hears the door open, and he pauses briefly when he sees Bruce walk in, a little surprised to see him in the store. He sets down what he's looking at, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he approaches the male.]

Hey, Bruce. [Fighting back a chuckle at just how awkward the guy looks...]

[Makes a start when he hears his name - usually its either Tony or somebody else without something that could be possibly bad - but he manages to get his composure back quickly enough and looks at Steve.

Have a small, awkward smile.]

Hey.

[...he fidgets after a pause.]
